The Firemans House
When the mill installed steam power it meant that there would need to be a constant fire burning in the boiler rooms in order to keep up a head of steam. If fire was to break out in a working cotton mill the results would be catastrophic, so a full-time fireman was in residence and this cottage is a lovely conversion of his original living quarters.
The cottage has two comfy light bedrooms, one with a superking bed which can be separated into two singles and the other with a standard double.
The bedrooms are on the ground floor of this property and upstairs is the main living area. Here you will find a fully equipped kitchen which then leads into an open plan dining area and lounge. The lounge features the original fireplace, and has two comfy sofas, a TV and a selection of books to browse at your leisure.
Following a day roaming around the local area, you can then soak in the bath or under the shower followed by dinner in teh dining area with the view of the iconic mill and River Goyt.
