All at Torr Vale Mill strive to make everyone’s visit as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.  Access has been considered in all development of the site and will continue to be so to accommodate everyone’s individual requirements.  As Torr Vale Mill is grade 2* listed the changes required to make it accessible for all have been restricted. This guide is there to provide people with the information they require before making a booking at one or more of the cottages.

Access:

To the cottages from the yard

• The main entrance to the yard of Torr Vale Mill from the top car park is a gravelled slope, from here you can gain access to all cottages by foot.

• From the yard level, access to the cottages is as follows:

  • Firemans House – a small sloped drive for 1 car to the door

  • Clocking In House – 8 steps up (outside)

  • The Lean To House – 11 steps up (outside)

  • The Managers Suite – 21 steps up (outside)

  • The Old Workshop – 17 steps up (inside)

To the cottages from the cottages private carpark

• The private car park sits above the yard level and access can be gained between the two via 53 steps.

• From the cottages private car park to the individual entrances, access is as follows:

  • Firemans House – 53 steps down and a walk up a slope

  • Clocking In House – 46 steps down (outside)

  • The Lean To House – 43 steps down (outside)

  • The Managers Suite – 34 steps down (outside)

  • The Old Workshop – 71 steps down and up (outside and inside)

Within the cottages:

• Firemans House – staircase up to first floor, bedrooms downstairs, bathroom upstairs

• Clocking In House – level access within, a small change in level from the hallway to the living room, shower cubical tray requires stepping into

• The Lean To House – level access within

• The Managers Suite – level access within

• The Old Workshop – level access within, shower cubical tray requires stepping into   

 

Other:

Bedrooms: All bedrooms have anti-allergenic bedding and mattress/pillow protectors.

Hearing: All televisions have subtitle functions

Visual: The walls, floors and skirting have high contrast colours

Assistance dogs:  Assistance dogs are welcome in the properties with prior notice, please contact the team directly (info@torrvalemill.co.uk) and a dog bowl and basket can be provided.

Disabled parking: There are three disabled parking spaces for use of the holiday lets and visitors of Torr Vale Mill.  These are in the yard area under the lean-to.  Please inform the team if you require one of these spaces (info@torrvalemill.co.uk).
